A Study on the Relationship Between Anger Expression and Sport Commitment in Collegiate Soccer Players

초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between anger expression and sport commitment among collegiate soccer players. A survey was conducted with players registered with the Korea Football Association, and a total of 483 participants were included in the final analysis. Data were analyzed using SPSS 29.0, with correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis performed. The results showed that, first, anger control was positively correlated with both cognitive and behavioral commitment, whereas anger-out and anger-in were negatively correlated with both variables. Second, anger control had a positive effect on both factors, while anger-out negatively affected both cognitive and behavioral commitment, and anger-in negatively affected cognitive commitment. Third, in the analysis by academic year, anger control positively influenced both factors in the first-year group, whereas anger-out negatively affected behavioral commitment in the second-year group. These findings confirm that anger control is a key psychological factor in promoting sport commitment and suggest the need for anger expression strategies that reflect academic year characteristics and the competitive environment to enhance sport commitment.
