The climbing exercise is an exercise that has grown in popularity over the last five years. Despite the increased interest in climbing exercise, related research is not only inadequate, but also biased in physiological psychology, etc., and research on climbing development, activation, empirical analysis, etc. is not actively conducted. In order to activate climbing, it is important to grasp the current situation of sports climbing, so this study was conducted. Unlike past studies that utilize questionnaire data, we tried to present accurate and diverse research results by utilizing Instagram big data collected in real time. As a result of the empirical analysis, the days of the week with the highest climbing utilization rate were Sunday, and the days of the week with the lowest activity were Tuesday and Thursday. Secondly, we found that climbing, unlike other exercises, has a large regional difference. Third, the most popular type of sports climbing is bouldering, and the most visited climbing sports facility in the country is The Climb. It is significant that we conducted empirical analysis using Instagram data in a situation where there is almost no domestic climbing empirical analysis research, and in this research, we will contribute to the climbing activation policy and make it a movement that more people will enjoy.
