초록

This paper explores the future that emerges when philosophical, literary, and scientific discussions related to the posthuman combine with technology. It particularly focuses on the role of narratives in bridging the human and the posthuman. Posthuman and posthumanism have played a crucial role in redefining human identity. In defining this posthumanism, literature, especially science fiction (SF), accomplishes what technology cannot through imagination. SF literature, based on scientific imagination, predicts or imagines the lives and societies of future humans, mediating between scientific experiments and ontology. In posthuman discussions, the imagination contained in narratives plays a decisive role in describing new beings and the societies they inhabit. Furthermore, the combination of technological advancement and literary creativity contributes to setting the ethical and philosophical directions of the future. This paper points out the limitations of anthropocentric thinking and emphasizes that posthuman discourse should broadly consider not only technological progress but also the relationships between humans, others, and the environment.
