신문 코퍼스를 활용한 ‘다문화’ 공기어 분석
초록
This study aims to illustrate how the term ‘multiculture’ has been used in Korean society through the co-words of ‘multiculture’, and to suggest a linguistically improved term. To this end, the co-words of ‘multiculture’ were examined by year and parts of speech, and the perception of ‘multiculture’ was exactly reflected in the co-words. That is to say, ‘multiculture’ is perceived in relation to marriage migrant women, and it is shown in the co-words that they are generally the subject of support. Since ‘multiculture’ is synonymous to marriage migrants and marriage immigrants in Korean society, the co-words of ‘migrant’ and ‘immigrant’ were also compared with those of ‘multiculture’. As a result, ‘multiculture’ was found to have more in common with ‘migrant’ than ‘immigrant’. Therefore it seems more appropriate to call internationally married families ‘migrant families’ than ‘multicultural families’. As North Korean defectors are also included in the scope of ‘multiculture’, the co-words of ‘saeteomin’(North Korean defector) and ‘multiculture’ were also compared, and as a result, ‘saeteomin’ shared many co-words with ‘multiculture’. Therefore it seemed fit to include North Korean defectors in general discussions of ‘multiculture’.
