초록

The purpose of this study is to conduct an in-depth interview of 11 number of disabled yachtsman who is a member of Korea Disabled Yacht Federation and analyze and understand the current status of disabled yacht as sports in Korea. First, despite the recent development of marine sports, disabled yacht has very few of convenient facilities and few number of marina clubs for the disabled. Second, there are still problems in discovering disabled yachtsmen due to the lack of support funds for both players and equipment and of budgets in municipal/provincial athletic association. Third, it lacks domestic competition and training due to travel time, competition schedule, and budget compared to other sports. Fourth, yachtsman's ability has slowly improved due to the lack of professional leaders. Fifth, few safety boats are distributed due to safety problems compared to international competition. Disabled yacht can be expected to play a role as a place for social exchange that maintains a good relationship overcoming the situations above the sea through teamwork and as a mental effect that builds confidence.
