This study is going to observe the relational satisfaction according to the correspondence value congruency on exchanged resources, focusing on the six resources (service, information, economy, product, recognition, affection) that a mother and her child exchange, from the perspective of exchange and resource theory. For the study, we carried out a survey targeting 200 couples of adolescents and their mothers residing in Seoul Metropolitan Area, and collected the data from 198 couples. The study shows that first, the resource that children are offered the most from their mothers is a product. An errand(service) and information are the resources that children provide to their mothers mostly. Second, when it comes to the resource that highest value was put on, it was acknowledgment for children, information for their mothers. In the last result, actually taken the resource that they put most value on, they showed higher satisfaction compared to the other group that were offered the resource that were not value attached. The results were relevant for both children and their mothers. In addition, comparing the differences in relational satisfaction in accordance with same value attachment, the average of relational satisfaction increased when evaluating the same resource correspondently. Such a result proved to be significant. For such a result, we found grounds to support that not the frequency and amount of resource but resource value attachment should be taken into account. In addition, although adolescents and their mothers exchange their resources disproportionately in individual area, the results of this study are able to provide basic data in analyzing how to manage the exchange balance.
