Recently, as interest in the fourth industrial revolution has increased, local governments have implemented policies to cope with the fourth industrial revolution. As the industry related to the fourth industrial revolution is concentrated in the metropolitan area including Gyeonggi Province, the government is pursuing policies related to the fourth industrial revolution in Gyeonggi Province. However, there was not enough practical researches on the characteristics of the fourth industry in Gyeonggi-do, so this study analyzed the current status of the fourth industry in Gyeonggi-do by using LQ analysis and dynamic shift-share analysis. As a result of the analysis, first, the fourth industry in Gyeonggi-do has specialized in the region, and is an industry with competitive advantage in both the effect of industrial structure and the effect of regional allocation. Second, specialized, scientific and technical services are competitive industries with high specialization, industrial structure effect, and regional allocation effect. Third, manufacturing industry is specialized industry. The local allocation effect is high, but the industrial structure is low. Fourth, publishing, video, broadcasting and information services, finance and insurance are both highly effective in structural effects of the industry and regional allocation, and are potential industries that can grow into specialized industries in the future. Fifth, the region with high regional allocation effect is distributed in overcrowding control area and growth management area, and it includes southern part of Gyeonggi and some northern part.
