초록

As the rapidly changing VUCA worldview has become more important recently, Universal Design needs to establish a design strategy that presents experiences that can satisfy psychologically and sensibly in addition to functions that vary widely and assist users in need of consideration. Unlike the general public, visually impaired people have low independence in their daily lives and need various help for their lives, but there are very few household development cases with universal design for the visually impaired in the household environment. Therefore, this study proposed a furniture design with safety, clarity, and aesthetics in consideration of the specificity of visually impaired users that are not well covered in Korea. In addition, by analyzing cases of universal indoor furniture at home and abroad for the blind, problems were identified, and design development based on user-centered processes and PPP evaluation was developed, and design furniture emphasizing safety maximizing curvature, aesthetics satisfaction of users, and quantitative evaluation of non-visual information. Through design development cases based on systematic methodology in this study, it is expected that it will be helpful in future universal design research as data for product development that considers indoor life for the blind in the future.
