The purpose of this study is to examine the importance of logo design for general programming channels in South Korea and to explore how logo design forms an image that expresses a broadcaster’s values and directions. Furthermore, this study provides a basic framework that can be incorporated into the design process based on the objective evidence analyzed in this paper. TV Chosun, JTBC, Channel A and MBN were selected as the research subject. To establish systematic analytical framework, a literature review based on prior research was conducted to extract preliminary evaluation factors. And to verify these factors, surveys and interviews were carry out with design experts. Ultimately, five criteria were identified: aesthetics, differentiation, communicability, applicability, and modernity. Based on these factors, an online survey was conducted and 104 citizens from various regions across the country participated in the survey. As a result, JTBC received the highest scores across all criteria. Channel A, which recently rebranded its logo, also got high evaluation scores from participants.
