Development and Validation of Core Competencies Diagnostic Tool for Future Teachers

초록

Purpose: This study aims to develop and validate a diagnostic tool for assessing the future core competencies required of teachers. Design/Methodology/Approach: A self-report questionnaire using a 5-point scale was developed based on the conceptual model of core competencies derived from previous research. The validity and reliability of the tool were examined through item analysis, Rasch model analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis, using responses from 575 teachers across primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools. Findings: First, the developed diagnostic tool for assessing future teachers' core competencies consists of five competency domains, 12 sub-competencies, and 40 items. Second, the validity and reliability of the tool were verified, demonstrating its effectiveness as a diagnostic tool. Value: This study provides policy implications for teacher education and professional development.
