한글 맞춤법 총칙 제1항과 일부 조항에 대한 검토

초록

This paper mainly aims at fixing the interpretation of the first provision of the general rules in Korean orthography whose interpretation has been controversial until now. I make certain that ‘fit to grammar’ means ‘splitting and writing the original form’ to interpret the first provision as what is meant primarily ‘writing fit to grammar’ and secondly ‘not deviating from the standard pronunciation’. And I argue in addition that if the writing ‘fit to grammar’ is likely to deviate the sound(pronunciation), we have to discard the ‘grammar’ to write ‘as sound’ and if there is no grammar to apply, that is, in case that the original form is unidentified or difficult to recognize we also have to write ‘as sound’. Futhermore, I research minutely the fifth and the eighth provisions whose problems have not been studied deeply until now and show the correction method of them.
