국가 정체성과 다문화주의, 그 위험한 관계 -프랑스의 경우-

초록

The purpose of this article is to consider the relationship between national identity and multiculturalism through the case of France. France has been putting in the effort to assimilate and to integrate the immigrants ever since the modern times. In other words, assimilation and integration are the result of interpreting multiculturalism in a French way. Despite France's policy stance, French politicians have continued to point out that immigrants and their descendants are national problems. Nicolas Sarkozy has slyly exploited the conflicts between Islam and the Western world, which have become more intense in recent years. His important political agenda was the establishment of national identity. One of the most important of the various identities of French people is national identity. In this situation, multiculturalism has become an unacceptable word in France, and the social discrimination suffered by immigrants is still present.
