고립·은둔 위기청소년의 청소년활동 참여 경험 연구: 서울시 행복동행학교 유스톡을 중심으로

Objective: This study analyzed the changes in daily life, psychological/emotional state, and sociality of isolated and withdrawn at-risk youth who participated in youth activities. Based on these findings, it aims to propose ways to develop youth activities to better support at-risk youth. Methodology: This study employed one-on-one in-depth interviews with six youth participants of the “Seoul Happy Companion School Youth Talk! Project,” conducted at a youth center in 2024. The collected data were analyzed using a general qualitative research approach and inductive thematic analysis procedures. Findings: The analysis revealed that isolated and withdrawn at-risk youth experienced a recovery of daily life by regularly coming to the youth center, sharing meals, and participating in youth activities with their peers. They also experienced positive psychological and emotional changes, including a reduction in feelings of depression and anxiety, and an increase in self-confidence and a sense of challenge. It was found that they spent more quality time with their families at home, and formed meaningful relationships through active interaction with peers, youth leaders, and external experts. Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, the following development strategies are proposed: First, individualized and tailored support is necessary to meet the specific characteristics of each individual. Second, further research on youth activities should be conducted to enhance social skills. Third, youth activity facilities should be actively utilized as supportive spaces for isolated and withdrawn at-risk youth. Finally, it is crucial to strengthen the capabilities of youth leaders in supporting isolated and withdrawn at-risk youth.
