초록
This paper introduces Hojepmong (胡蝶夢) (1965), a printed collection of Korean classical songs that has remained relatively unknown in academic circles, and examines its distinctive characteristics. Published in April 1965 by Taedong Munhwasa in Daegu, Hojepmong is a single-volume book measuring 13 cm × 19 cm. The cover features an ink illustration of flowers and butterflies, with a woman gazing at them. The collection comprises eight gasa (lyrical songs), one sijo, and the Gyeonggi folk song (japga) <Changbutaryeong>, totaling ten works. The primary purpose of the publication was commercial profit, as evidenced by various cost-cutting measures found throughout the book. Notably, most of the included works center on female characters, suggesting that the book was primarily compiled for a female readership. This focus distinguishes Hojepmong from other contemporary printed gasa collections published in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.
