A Case Study on the Color of Environmental Noise Barriers in Finland Highway - Focused on the Color of Environmental Noise Barriers from Helsinki to Joensuu

초록

According to the improvement of a landscape level, color studies of environmental noise barriers on domestic highways are actively conducted, while improvements on beautiful roads are still required on many highways. In response, this study conducted an on-site survey and analysis of the color of environmental noise barriers on highways, focusing on Finland, which seeks to preserve the national ecological environment as a top priority. The results of this study are as follows: First, the tendency of color applied to environmental noise barriers in Korea is gradually considered the relationship with the surrounding landscape rather than individual color use and induced from high to low chroma, and recognized the importance of comprehensive maintenance of highway landscape through color guidelines. Second, on-site inspections showed that the color of the Finnish highway environmental noise barriers was applied with a strict and restrained range of materials and colors and maintained a safe and pleasant highway environment. Third, in order to maintain a calm color landscape, it is necessary to strengthen the connection with the entire city's plan to preserve the natural landscape without harming it. This study is significant in that it presents overseas examples for pleasant and calm environmental colors, and it is hoped to provide an important perspective to consider for the color planning of environmental noise barriers on highways in Korea.
