보건의료인의 고압산소치료에 대한 인식과 경험

초록

This descriptive qualitative study was undertaken to understand healthcare professionals' perceptions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and their experiences. The participants were 39 healthcare professionals whose work involved hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Data were collected at nine focus group interviews from September 2020 to October 2020 and subjected to qualitative content analysis. Three themes were identified: 'difficulties in patient-centered care', 'efforts to improve the quality of patient care', and 'the need for administrative and financial support for hyperbaric oxygen therapy'. Issues regarding patient-centered care included a lack of dedicated personnel, insufficient understanding of treatment, and concerns about unexpected situations. Nonetheless, participants adhered to standardized procedures and felt they provided patients with sufficient explanations. Efforts are needed to ensure high-quality patient-centered care by healthcare professionals responsible for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, such as securing dedicated personnel, establishing systems, expanding insurance criteria, and investing in education and promotion. The results of this study could be utilized as foundational data for improving the quality of care of patients receiving hyperbaric oxygen therapy and for developing educational programs.
