텍스트 이론을 위한 시퀀스 재고찰

Rethinking sequences for text theory

초록

In this study, we reexamined Adam’s theory by considering six sequences as the basic units for analyzing the structure of texts. Each sequence plays a crucial role in understanding the text by complementing the roles of other sequences. For example, a descriptive sequence defines an object, while a narrative sequence provides the logic to support this definition. Analyzing the episode “The Harcourt Studio” from Barthes’ Mythologies, we found that the reason this studio is defined as an important place for actors is due to the stories associated with it. Through this narrative sequence, it is shown that the Harcourt Studio symbolizes an ideal personal life for actors, allowing them to return to an ideal life outside of their roles.
