초록
Entrepreneurship has emerged as a crucial strategy for economic revitalization and youth employment in South Korea. As the demand for entrepreneurial talent increases, universities have played a central role in delivering entrepreneurship education. This study examines the historical development of entrepreneurship education in Korea, focusing on universities and graduate-level programs. The evolution is categorized into four stages—initiation, expansion, advancement, and consolidation—and is analyzed in connection with national efforts to foster innovation and job creation. Findings show that Korea’s entrepreneurship education began in the 1980s with university-level courses and gradually developed through the establishment of departments, associations, and graduate schools, supported by government policies and legal frameworks. Over time, entrepreneurship education has transformed from a purely academic subject into a strategic, interdisciplinary field that contributes to national competitiveness and the creation of a university- led entrepreneurship ecosystem. Therefore, This study confirmed the significance of start-up education contributing to the creation of a start-up ecosystem by strengthening national competitiveness and establishing a university-centered start-up support system, going beyond simple subject development or manpower training.
