현대패션에 나타난 카지미르 말레비치와 나움 가보의 공간성 비교 분석

초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze comparatively how the aesthetic space expression of Kazimir Malevich and Naum Gabo who suggest new concept for avant-garde space through abstract expression and geometric composition is shown in fashion and examine the characteristics of it. As a study method, this author conducted literature review and case study at the same time with domestic and overseas books, theses, journals, and fashion websites, and as a study range, the reference was established as fashion collections from 2010 to 2015 when the spatial characteristics of Malevich and Gabo reached the peak. About study contents, first, centering around Malevich’s idea, aesthetic characteristics were divided into non-objectiveness, the world of transcendence, and color kinetic, and about Gabo, aesthetic characteristics were analyzed in the categories of heterogeneous space, the world of illusion, and linear kinetic. Second, Malevich and Gabo’s spatial characteristics were classified into structural space, transcendent space, and dynamic space and were analyzed comparatively based on the cases found in contemporary fashion. The findings of this study are as follows: the clothes expressing Malevich’s ‘Structural space’ are characterized by flat cutting, geometric appliqué decorations, and non-objective shape patterns, the clothes of ‘Transcendent space’ are by the harmony of black and white, exclusion of unnecessary decorations, moderate color, and extreme minimalism, and the clothes of ‘Kinetic space’ are by the bold composition of diagonals, difference in the brightness of colors, intense color, and asymmetric and unbalanced composition. The clothes expressing Gabo’s ‘Structural space’ employ advanced laser technology, 3D printing, commercial materials, and origami technique, the clothes of ‘Transcendent space’ apply structural lines, the frames of solid materials, and opaque materials, and ‘Kinetic space’ is expressed with strife patterns, thin see-through materials, the overlapping of mesh materials, and linear elements of fringes. Malevich and Gabo’s influence on fashion can lay the foundation of conceptual and creative convergent design in contemporary fashion and present forms, materials, and colors reflecting spatial characteristics to fashion designers, so it can provide a perspective to set up the direction of experimental, original, new, and creative utility freed from the existing form.
