小堀遠州と木下長嘯子の旅行記の比較研究 Comparing the travelogues of Kobori Enshu and Kinosita Choushousi

초록

The letter exchanged between Kobori Enshu and Kinosita Choushousi shows that their relationship was very strong. In the contents such as seasonal greetings, New Year’s greetings, visits of sympathy and Waka instruction, one can find a very friendly and caring scene that can be said to be connected with a family-like relationship beyond a ceremonial relationship. In addition, both of them wrote travel journals, which often cited works of classical literature. In particular, quotes from Isemonogatari stand out. In the case of Enshu, he wrote Waka everywhere he visited and actively borrowed words and Waka from classical works, as if it were a trip to Utamakura. In comparison, Choushousi inserted quotes in his sentences and used a conjunction method through an indirect description of a scene, and there were fewer quotes compared to Enshu. In particular, Isemonogatari was cited among many classics because the annotation of Isemonogatari was passed down according to the representative classical transmission system of the time. This is because there was an intention to pass on the sense of beauty in classics through this.
