The Effects of Korean Dance Exercise on Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Aging-Related Hormones in Obese Elderly Women

초록

The purpose of this study was to compare and examine the effects of Korean dance exercise on cardiovascular risk factors, leptin, and aging-related hormones in obese elderly women who were divided into the exercise group (n=10) and the control group (n=11) through 16-week program of Korean dance exercise, and to provide basic data for health promotion of old people. Regarding change of cardiovascular risk factors, exercise group showed significant changes in TC(p<.01), LDL-C(p<.01), SBP(p<.05), and DBP(p<.05). Regarding changes of aging-related hormones, exercise group showed significant changes in DHE(p<.01), Melatonin(p<.05), and GH(p<.01). Therefore, 16-week Korean dance exercise, for 4 days per week and effective for cardiovascular risk factors, leptin, and aging-related hormones. From the above results, it is considered that 16-week Korean dance exercise treatment can be used to present basic educational data with respect to development of exercise program for obese elderly women. In future, it is necessary to conduct research on Korean dance exercise program with music, to guide obese elderly women who are not familiar with exercise.
