A total of 532 participants completed a survey developed by the present author. In the first part of the study, an open-ended questionnaire asked the respondents to list the reasons why they trusted and distrusted religion. In the second part of this study, the author examined the generational differences adherents and non-adherents. The results are as follows. First, Protestants trust their religions because of its confidence that it represents a dynamic religious faith. Participants trust Roman Catholics church since it is believed to have an open mind, it is able to get along with other religions, and it provides various social services to society. Participants trust Buddhism since it represents the historical and traditional religion in Korea. Second, participants report distrusting Protestants due to its evangelical fervor and its separation from Korean Culture. Participants report distrusting Roman Catholics since they do not behave in line with their Catholic beliefs. Participants do not trust Buddhists since their contribution to society is relatively small and due to their factional strife. This results represent each religions play roles for their missions, and lots of Korean react on trust and distrust of three religions very sensibly.
