A Study on the Regulation of Private Security in the U. S. A.Le, Chang-MoThe regulation of private security has recently become more important because of its rapid growth. The rapid growth of private security has produced a number of problems. These include concerns over the quality of persons working in the industry, por standards of operations, and anxiety over the level of responsibility. The industry has ben said to be vulnerable to misconduct and to the covering up of misconduct. In adition, the problems of privacy, inequality and legitimacy should not be underestimated. For these reasons, the employes in the private security industry and the operations of firms should be scrutinized and regulated. It is dificult to expect substantial development of private security industry without strict guidance, supervision, and coperative efort.
