문화자본이 미디어 리터러시 형성에 미치는 영향

초록
The importance of media literacy has been increasing due to the expansion of digital divide and the growing diversification of the media usage. Grounded on the importance of these surroundings, taking a close look at the primary factors that make up media literacy was founded necessary, and this study analyzed how cultural capital has affected the makings of media literacy accordingly. As a result, cultural capital related variables, such as ‘scholastic ability’, ‘culture preference’, ‘cultural attainments’, ‘cultural experiences’, ‘possession level of media’ etc., has been found to affect the media literacy related factors on a meaningful level. This can be said to suggest that the intellectual abilities and cultural understandings of an individual has a close connection with media literacy. This paper has dealt with the implications that this research results have, and pointed out that more studies on the factors forming media literacy should be attained at a more diverse level henceforth.
