공공도서관의 연대기적 유형별 공간구조 변화 분석 - 사서 소요 공간을 중심으로 -

초록

Purpose: This study aims to derive changes in the spatial structure of public libraries as the function and role of librarians, the intermediary of information delivery, and to propose the direction of the spatial structure of librarians and areas of future public libraries through spatial structure analysis including quantitative and visual results. Methods: This study extracts cases that are easy to analyze drawings from representative overseas public libraries from the 19th century to the modern era, the early days of the industrial revolution. In order to confirm changes in the spatial structure, cases were classified according to the composition method of the two spaces, the space of the librarian, which is a private area, and the public sector, which is used by a large number of people. In addition, the space required by librarians for each case was analyzed and the ratio of the area was calculated and compared. In addition, in order to analyze the spatial structure of the public sector, the Visual Graph Analysis method was adopted and analyzed among the analysis methods of Space syntax. This is a useful analysis method for quantifying and visualizing changes in spatial structure. Result: As a result of analyzing the cases of the library, the form of the public sector gradually changes to an open space structure, and the status of the public sector is also increasing. On the contrary, it can be seen that the space area of librarians gradually decreases from the past to the modern era, changing limitedly and closedly, and the phase value also decreases.
