초록
This study aims to develop a blended learning-based academic advising model and design principles that can be flexibly applied within university education environments. Amidst ongoing transformations in the higher education system, academic advising has evolved beyond a mere administrative service to become a core element of university education. As a result, there is a growing need for systematic approaches that effectively support students facing difficulties in major selection and career decision-making. This study addresses these challenges by proposing a blended learning academic advising model and design principles informed by a developmental perspective. Employing design and development research methods, the study derived an initial academic advising model and design principles through literature analysis and learner needs assessment, adopting the cycle of engagement as a conceptual framework. Through processes of internal and external validation, the final academic advising model was established, incorporating 20 design principles and 50 detailed guidelines organized around three core elements: learning environment design, academic advising goals, and teaching and learning activities. The academic advising model and design principles developed in this study emphasize developmental approaches to advising practice while providing specific, practical strategies for delivering customized support to students.
