정보보안 사고에 대한 공시가 시장에서 기업의 주식가치에 미치는 영향

초록

Information use and information security have become an important factor in determining the organizational objectives and performance. However, recent security breaches including the leakage of privacy information have caused serious damage to business firms in terms of financial loss and downgrade of corporate image. Therefore, official announcement of information security breach affects the stock value of a firm. In this study, we determine the effect of security breach on the organization’s perception of growth potential by analyzing the effect of organizational security breach on corporate value through the event study methodology. Thereby, this study makes a contribution to make the top executives and board members more aware of the organizational damages caused by security breaches and bring the perception change in top management about the importance of active security implementation and investment.
