과학기술계 기혼여성의 ‘어머니 역할’ 수행에 대한 사회적 지지와 진로장벽, 직업적 자기효능감에 관한 연구

초록

The purpose of this study is to capture professional colleagues’ social supports on the mothering role of married women in the field of science and technology and to explore their perceived career barriers and vocational self-efficacy. For this purpose, this study used a generic qualitative research method. The research participants were eight female professionals (4 in science and technology fields and 4 in family-friendly humanity and social science fields). The data were collected from the in-depth interviews and then coded and categorized based on triangulation. Compared to married women in family-friendly humanity and social science fields, married women in science and technology fields 1) receive low social support from professional colleagues, 2) consider overcoming carrier barriers as individual responsibility, and 3) experience reduced vocational self-efficacy due to their mothering roles.
