재일교포 종합 잡지 <漢陽> 속 5.18 소설에 관한 표상

초록

Hanyang, uniquely positioned as a magazine for Koreans living in Japan, gained freedom from the regime, enabling immediate reporting on the May 18th incident and amplifying the voices of those affected by the tragedy. Assuming a role previously unavailable in Korea, it sharply criticized those in power and established for the first time the historical significance and value of the May 18th incident. As a unique space for dissent, Hanyang allowed people to raise objections to the regime, turn events around, and expose the truth. In this regard, this publication exhibits a heterotopian site of opposition, where forgotten or distorted truths of the regime were retrieved and recorded, and the voices of the dead converged with the living. Hence, Hanyang’s role in the literature and discourse of the May 18th Movement must be reconsidered.
