Diaspora can be said to be a term representing the core and foundation of the literary world of Shim Yeon-su who was a rare writer who passionately engaged in literature while living the life of a diaspora who moved from Gangneung, Joseon, where he was born, to Yeonhaeju, the former Soviet Union, and then to Yongjeong, China, and then to Japan to study abroad. According to this trajectory of life, the literary world of the diaspora Shim Yeon-soo was developed into a type that expressed the feelings of emigration and wandering, the sense of hometown and love for one's country (hiraeth), and experiences and emotions in other countries. In order to investigate the literary world of Deep Diaspora, it is essential to examine the sense of hometown related to the hometown revealed in his literature. In Shim Yeon-soo's literature, two aspects of their hometowns are presented as they intersect: their original hometown, Gangneung, and their later hometown, Yongjeong, China, a realistic space where they migrated and lived. In the future, it is necessary to compare and examine Shim Yeon-soo's perceptions and attitudes toward these two hometowns with those of the Goryeoin literature, which formed the mainstream of diaspora literature. Such mutual examination according to the sense of hometown is considered to be the foundation for a more in-depth understanding of the diaspora's deep literary world. The review and research on this will be left for future work.
