초록

This paper examines the Dongjang-ridongnaegye implemented in Dongjang-ri, Inghwa-myeon, Ansan, Gyeonggi-do in the 16th and 17th centuries. The documents related to the Dongjang-ridongnaegye include 『Dongnaegyeibui(洞內契立議)』, 『Dongnaesanggyejwamok(洞內上契座目)』, and 『Hagyemyeongnok(下契名錄)』, and the results of the analysis based on these are as follows. First, Dongjang-ridongnaegye was implemented in 1628. When it was first implemented, it was a hyanggyu consisting only of Sanggyewon (the ruling class members.) However, from 1647, both the Sanggyewon and Hagyewon (commoners and lower class members) could join Dongjang-ridongnaegye. Afterward, in 1782, Dongjang-ri was divided into Wolpi-ri, Wagok-ri, and Gojan-ri. The records of Hagye organization were found until 1791 and it explains that it continued to operate for a certain period of time even after the division. Second, mutual aid for funerals was the core of the Dongjang-ridongnaegye operation. The recipients of the aid were the member himself, his parents, and his wife. It can be divided into aid in kind and labor among the members. In-kind aids vary depending on the period, but an equal amount was contributed from both Sanggyewons and Hagyewons. In the case of labor aid, according to 「Ipui (立議)」, in 1647 the hours of labor were imposed differently for Sanggyewons and Hagyewons. On the other hand, based on 「Dongnaegyeipuisujeong (洞內契立議修正)」, in 1676 the labor was equally charged to all members. In addition, in Dongjang-ridongnaegye, when a Sanggyewon passed or lost his family, the other Sanggyewons additionally provided aid in kind and labor. Third, the Yeonseong Kim clan accounted for a large proportion of Sanggyewon in Dongjang-ridongnaegye, and the Jinju Ha clan, Suncheon Kim clan, and others are included. Considering the fact that Yeonseong Kim clan also accounted for the majority of the head of the gye, we can see that they had more influence than other clans in Dongjang-ri in the 17th century. Fourth, another characteristic of Dongjang-ridongnaegye is that a separate list of Hagyewon, called 『Hagyemyeongrok』 was compiled. Along with other information, 『Hagyemyeongrok』 contains items regarding the organization and roles of Hagye. The details of 『Hagyemyeongrok』 changed over time. From 1658 to 1662, only the name of the Hagyewon was written, but from 1684 to 1764, the year of birth was added below the name. There was a big change in the writing method when it was updated in 1782, when Dongjang-ri was divided. In the list written in 1782, not only the name of the Hagyewon and the year of birth, but also which dong among Wa-dong, Wolpi-dong, and Gojan-dong they lived in after Dongjang-ri was divided as well as who received aid, and other miscellaneous information were written.
