A dormitory is a space where various members of the same group live together. Unlike the past, which has played a role in providing accommodation-oriented services, a number of amenities are planned today to reflect the needs of users and provide a more comfortable life as well as accommodation functions. However, due to the need to accommodate a large number of people and economic problems, the distribution of residential and convenient functions is centered on efficiency. Therefore, in this study, the movement space, which is the space connecting these spaces, was viewed from the perspective of the in-between space, and the movement space was newly sought as a space where special actions and experiences can be achieved beyond simple movement. For this purpose, a literature survey was conducted on the dormitory and in-between space, and based on this, four cases in which the movement space was characterized by the in-between space were selected and compared. After that, the analysis contents were synthesized to derive planning elements and characteristics that allow the movement space to be used in a way beyond movement in the dormitory. As a result, when the movement space is planned to have the characteristics of the in-between space, it becomes a representative characteristic of the dormitory, and a natural social and spatial experience is induced in it. In addition, it was confirmed that the characteristics of the in-between space can be realized by diaonal arrangement of movement space or by insertion of in-between space.
