중등교육과정에 따른 여학생의 학습적 및 심리적 특성의 변화

초록

The present study was designed to explore differences between grades (1st, 2nd and 3rd grade of middle school; 1,665 middle school female students) and between two time points of measurement, three and a half months apart, in learning-related variables, social skill, self-esteem and self-efficacy. According to the results, a rank order of scores for most dependent variables was the first, the third and the second grade of middle school. Also, measurement scores at the first wave were higher than at the second wave and differences between these two waves were the largest for the students of the first grade. Exceptionally, scores for learning anxiety, learning assistance and empathy were marked the highest for the third grade of students. According to the results from multiple regression analyses, further, self-esteem and self-efficacy were strongly correlated with several learning-related and social skill variables. These findings were discussed in terms of detrimental effects of the Korean educational system on the development of socio-psychological aspects of middle school students.
