저소득층 청소년의 학교체육활동과 비만도 및 건강인지와의 관련성

Relationships among school physical activity, obesity, and perceived health of adolescents in low-income family

초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the obesity and perceived health status by family income level and to examine the relationships among obesity and perceived health status, participation level of physical activity in school of adolescents in low-income family. Data from the 2016 Korean Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 program. Adolescents with low income levels showed higher rate of obesity and underweight but had higher stress and depression and lower happiness. And they had lower physical activity and physical education class participation in school. Low-income students who actively participate school physical education activity were positive about their health and felt less stress. And the sedentary behavior and internet using time by physical education class participation in school showed a significant difference. These results demonstrated that actively practice of physical education class had positive effects on physical and psychological health in low income adolescents. And the effects of regular practice of physical activity and reduction of sentential can be achieved. Therefore, policies for school sports classes and school sports clubs should be prepared to address the social and economic level of low-income adolescents.
