초록

This research explores the relationship between American Conservatism and statements of political elites, particularly presidential candidates in the U.S. Polarization of political ideology in the United States has been an important academic interest and how to utilize the conservative ideas and values into the policy has been another fact to investigate. The research found the three categories of conservatism in the US(social conservatism, economic conservatism, and conservatism in the foreign policy) consistently represented the presidential candidates position since 1980s. In particular, social conservatism is the most frequently mentioned in the statement followed by the economic conservatism.
