새입시 제도하에서의 지방사립대학 입시방안 연구

초록

The purpose of this study was to analyse major application materials from students and develop a local university's criteria to admit students in year 2002. The following data were obtained on 13,923 undergraduates enrolled between 1995 and 1999 at Dong-eui university: CSAT scores; HSA: and cumulative university GPA. A multiple regression model was developed with the dependent variable being mean of cumulative university GPA across all subjects, and the independent variables being CSAT and HSA. The regression equations and correlation coefficients were calculated for all subjects using three variables such as the CSAT, HSA, and university GPA. The findings were as follows. Firstly, the university GPA had consistently stronger correlation with HSA scores than with CSAT scores. Secondly, the HSA scores was the better predictor for students' university GPA than the CSAT scores. Finally, the prediction of the university GPA using both HSA and CSAT scores was stronger than using the CSAT only. However, the CSAT and HSA scores, in general, have less prediction for students university GPA. Therefore, it is suggested that varying materials application materials (e.g., essay-writing, letter of recommendation, structured interview, performance-based tests, etc.) from students should be considered as college admission data.
