The purpose of this study is to examine leadership’s mediating effect in the relationship between child self-control and peer interaction with 347 five-year-old children. According to the results gained through the research, first, child self-control and leadership have positive effect on positive peer interaction. In other words, children with excellent self-control and excellent leadership tend to have positive peer interaction. Also, the effect of child self-control on positive peer interaction is completely mediated by child leadership. Second, child self-control reduces negative peer interaction, and child leadership also decreases negative peer interaction. In addition, the effect of child self-control on negative peer interaction is partly mediated by child leadership. This shows that in a child’s positive peer interaction, child leadership has significant effect, and in negative peer interaction, self-control has even greater significance.
