초록

Objective: This study investigated how individuals with developmental disabilities adjust their gait to auditory pacing and examined the effects of disability type and motor performance level on gait adaptation. Methods: Twenty-eight participants (Intellectual Disability: 20, Autism Spectrum Disorder: 6, Encephalopathy: 2) completed three gait sessions: self-paced walking (Initial Baseline), metronome-paced walking (Auditory Feedback), and post-adaptation self-paced walking (Final Baseline). Spatiotemporal gait parameters were measured using the OptoGait system, and two-way mixed ANOVAs were performed. Results: Significant interactions between disability type, gait session, and motor performance level were found for step length and stance time symmetry. Participants with high motor performance maintained gait synchronization post-adaptation, whereas those with low motor performance reverted to pre-adaptation patterns. Conclusion: These findings highlight the impact of both disability type and motor performance level on gait adaptation. Individualized gait interventions incorporating rhythmic cueing may enhance motor learning and adaptive gait control in individuals with developmental disabilities.
