디아스포라 재오스트리아 한인문학의 현황과 성향
초록
This study examines the status of diaspora Korean literature in Austria, an unexplored field that has been relatively neglected among Korean diaspora literature. Austrian Korean literature was developed based on the only collection, “The Donau Conversation.” While the first issue has not yet been confirmed, four issues have been published. The writers are first-generation immigrants, former nurses dispatched to Germany, and those who emigrated from Korea. “The Donau Conversation” demonstrates that as publications are repeated, the works are subdivided into literary genres, the works are recorded, and one writer creates several genres. This is a common phenomenon in Korean diaspora literature in other regions, which has also created more essays than other literary genres stemming from the intention to pass on the history of their lives in the diaspora to their descendants. Korean diasporan literature includes nostalgia that expresses longing, loneliness as a stranger or borderline, conflict due to cultural differences, awareness of identity and ethnic homogeneity, and single-minded lyric poetry. In addition, hybridity and post-ethnic color are reproduced in terms of composition, introspection, and exploration through the contrast between the past and the present. A few member-centered organizations have developed Korean diaspora literature in Austria, but it is more popular with Korean writers in Austria than in any other region through literary activities with a desire for Korean literature and the production of certain literary results.
