행복 관련 그림책 읽기 활동이 유아의 행복감에 미치는 영향

초록

The goal of this study was to examine the effects of picture-book-reading related to the happiness on happiness of young children. The participants were thirty six 5-year-old children, and divided into an experimental(20 children) and a control(16 children) groups. Eight components of happiness were extracted from prior studies on young children’s happiness. Then 16 picture books were selected which were based on the selected components. The experimental group participated in shared picture book reading and post-reading activities on happiness, and the control group read picture books related to themes based on Nuri curriculum and participated in post-reading activities. The results showed that reading picture books about happiness and participating in extended activities had positive effects on the children's happiness. The findings suggest that picture book reading is a useful instructional method for enhancing children's happiness. This study concludes that storybook-reading activities about happiness should be actively utilized in the field of early childhood education.
