내면화된 타자성과 문화정체성의 갈등: 케이팝 데몬 헌터스 에 나타난 혼종적 정체성을 중심으로

This study analyzes the Netflix animated series K-Pop Demon Huntersthrough Roland Barthes's theory of mythology, examining how its demonnarrative gives shape to internalized otherness and conflicts of cultural identity. In this work, the demon is not a transcendent evil invading from outsidethe community but a sign of cultural fracture and self-negation already settledwithin the subject; exorcism is transformed from the annihilation of an externalenemy into a process of dismantling internalized negative myths. Chapter2 draws on Barthes's mythology, Foucault's discourse of power, and Kristeva'sconcept of abjection to show that the Honmoon functions as a symbolicboundary demarcating normality from abnormality, and that the demon groupSaja Boys condenses the cultural hybridity and identity anxiety the communitycannot accommodate. Chapter 3 traces the self-monsterization of the hybrid subject Lumi through Fanon's epidermalisation and Du Bois's doubleconsciousness, revealing how systems of representation and normative orderleave their effects within the subject. In the conclusion, Lumi prevails notby restoring the Honmoon but by baring her concealed markings on stageand singing through them―an act that fractures the mythological systemnaturalizing her difference as defect, demonstrating that exorcism in thisnarrative functions as a rite of translation rather than a rite of expulsion.
