다시 대학 글쓰기를 생각한다 - 많이 생각하고 많이 읽고 많이 쓰기를 중심으로 -

초록

The purpose of this study is to suggest a method of teaching writing in universities that involves a considerable amount of thinking, reading, and writing. The classic propositions of writing, thinking, and reading were discussed, focusing on “reading the world through poetry,” “becoming a reader of all books,” and “writing my own book.” Chapter 2 dealt with “reading the world through poetry,” which was related to “thinking a lot.” Here, I proposed a method of exploring and practicing a better life through writing that integrates ethical reflection on oneself and critical thinking about the world. This was based on empathizing with the text of the poem. Chapter 3 dealt with “becoming a reader of all books,” which was related to “reading a lot.” There are Korean college freshmen who could not read books during their teenage years—when they ideally should have read a lot—because they were occupied with university entrance exams. Here, I suggested a way for them to develop a positive relationship with books, which are a treasure trove of knowledge. Chapter 4 dealt with “writing my own book,” which relates to “writing a lot.” Here, I suggested a way to write consistently using the “Three Lines Diary” and Naver Blog methods and to complete it as “my own book” by combining it with writing self-narratives, current affairs columns, book reviews, and cultural criticisms. I agree with the argument that as times and environments have changed, writing and education must also change. However, it is also necessary to emphasize the fact that there is value in thinking, reading, and writing that does not change even if the times and environment change. The attitude we need now is not to adapt to these changes but to respond to these changes with the classical value of writing at the center. There is no royal road to writing. There is only a lot of thinking, reading, and writing.
