陳涉世家의 적합성에 대한 논의
초록
Among the five forms of Shiji史記, Shijia世家 can be considered as a ‘record of those who are both subjects and monarchs.’ Some writers have raised questions about the appropriateness of the selection of characters. Liu Zhiji劉知幾(661-721) criticized some of the figures recorded in shijia from the perspective of the harmony of name and reality. For example, Chen She陳涉 who was murdered by his subordinates six months after claiming to be king and left no heirs, or the founding fathers of the Han漢 Dynasty who were not much different from the people recorded in liezhuan列傳, are representative cases. This problem is because the continuity of generational succession seen in the early Zhou周 Dynasty was considered a major characteristic of shijia. However, the persistence is a phenomenon that appeared because the early characters appearing in shijia were meritorious subjects who received titles. The selection criteria for shijia presented by Sima Qian were only for the assistant minister. In addition, the presence or absence of virtue, that is, the size ofcontribution, was measured and recorded as benji本紀, shijia, and liezhuan. Considering the two criteria, that is, the support and the public service, it is not right to criticize Chen She’s incorporationinto shijia as a violation of the principle. However, it is also true that Sima Qian, who had the early assistant ministers in mind, used the name ‘shijia’, which provided a pretext for criticism.
