Improving the Quality of Korean School Education (II)- A Qualitative Case Study for Good Instruction in the Secondary School -Kim, Joo-Hoon*, Choe, Seoung-Hyun*, Kang, Dae-Hyun*, Kwak, Young-Sun*, You, Jeong-Ae*, Yang, Jong-Mo*, Lee, Ju-Seop**, Choe, Won-Yun***, and Kim, Young-Ae***Researcher in Korea Institute of Curriculum & Evaluation*Full Time Instructor Jeju National University of Education**Former Researcher in Korea Institute of Curriculum & Evaluation***This study was carried out to suggest the improvement of Korean school education byobservation of good practice and interview of good classroom teachers, students and principalsin the Korean Language, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Physical Education, MusicEducation and English. The characteristics of good practices in teaching were as follows ; the classroom thatrespect the aptitudes and abilities of students, well motivated classroom, self directed learning,introduction of activities that are related to real life situation/experiences of students, activityoriented classroom, integrated learning experiences, instruction that are well supported byinformation communication technology, activities that are supported by misconception,cooperative learning and use of students/parents supporters for the classroom.
