미국정치의 집단적 사회운동으로써 티파티 운동 참여자의 성격과 구성

초록

Are the Tea Party participants, who are defined as those having participated Tea Party rallies or donated money to those Tea Party-related organizations, the same people as the average American citizens or the simple Tea Party supporters? Denying that kind of simple parallel identification, this article argues that “the Tea Party participants” are different from “the Tea Party supporters” in that the former anger and frare the people of higher family income and higher education, and ventilate greater ustration into the society and against the government. In other words, the Tea Party participants are highly selected groups of people who occupy the upper tier of society in terms of income and education. That said, we also need to notice those other factors such as anger and frustration in order to have a more comprehensive understanding of the motivation of those Tea Party participants.
