The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among physical activities, nutrients intake, and health-related factors such as quality of life, perceived health status, and metabolic syndrome in menopausal women. The 6th Korean national health and nutrition examination survey were analyzed using SPSS package program. Results showed that recreation related-physical activity was positively correlated with quality of life, perceived health status, and HDL-C but work-related physical activity and sedentary life style were negatively correlated with quality of life and perceived health status. Regular walking, strength, and flexibility exercise enhanced quality of life and/or perceived health status and especially, flexibility exercise significantly increased HDL-C level. Nutrients intake except carbohydrate showed positive correlation with quality of life and perceived health status and women with metabolic syndrome had lower nutrients intake except carbohydrate compared to normal women. These results indicated that to improve health-related factors in menopausal women, regular physical exercise for recreation and balanced diet should be conducted.
