Geraniol is a monoterpenoid alcohol which is considered or be the most beneficial molecules, yet exhibit zero orxicity, also used in skin care. To develop of guideline of geranium, chemical analysis of geraniol in geranium was conducted by GC and GC/MS spectrometric analysis. GC/MS is a method that combines the features of gas-liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry or identify different substances within test samples which are bought randomly. As results, the content and range of geraniol in 9 geranium samples was 7.5~17.9%, and average was 12.3%. Large amounts of geraniol in geranium can ultimately provide a quality and convenient source for aromatherapy.
