초록

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to explore an intervention basis to enhance the Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Help of middle-aged men by confirming the effect of self-concealment and self-stigma on Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Helps of middle-aged men. Methods: Data were collected using self-reporting surveys and analyzed applying SPSS 23.0. Results: The effect of middle-aged men's self-concealment on Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Help was mid-to-high, while the effect of self-stigma was moderate. Results of tests of correlation between variables showed a negative correlation between Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Help and the competence area, the relationship area, concealment tendency, fear of secret leakage, and ownership of secrets. As a result of examining the relative influence on the Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Help, it had a significant effect in the order of competence area, relationship area, and concealment tendency. Conclusions: The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to lower self-concealment and self-stigma in order to promote Attitudes Toward Seeking Professional Helps of middle-aged men; wherein there is a need for social and institutional intervention and program development accordingly.
