Jia Zhangke’s director attitude of pursuing what changes and what does not change in <Mountains May Depart> China’s change. The director found the unchanging values in the ‘love’ and ‘Righteousness’ that bind human beings to each other. The values of ‘love’ and ‘Righteousness’ <Mountains May Depart> are reproduced through the popular songs and the actions of the characters inserted in. Jia Zhangke’s work through a film centered <Mountains May Depart> on the family through the ‘Hometown Trilogy’ pursues unchanging values in the changing times. One of Jia Zhangke’s unchanging directing styles is to convey themes and the mood of the era through popular songs, and this <Mountains May Depart> is evidenced in popular songs are a reminder of past times in Jia Zhangke’s works and a medium of memories for one’s own generation. The active acceptance of popular music into the film balances the artistry and popularity of Jia Zhangke’s films. Western music <Go West> and Chinese popular songs serve the <Cherish> and <Mountains May Depart> function of reproducing the social atmosphere and themes, expressing the emotions of the characters and giving unity to episodes of different times. <Mountains May Depart>’s music does not remain an ‘incidental’ part of the sound, but actively contributes to the completeness of the text.
