수사적 민감성 척도를 활용한 세대별 의사소통 양상 분석

초록

This study aims to analyze types of rhetorical sensitivity by generation and understand the characteristics thereof. Rhetorical sensitivity, proposed by Hart and Burks (1972), is a useful concept in analyzing personal dispositions in interpersonal communication. To compare rhetorical sensitivity among generations, this study used the Korean translation of RHETSEN 2 developed by Eadie and Powell(1991). The survey was conducted on 515 people (261men and 254 women). The results can be summarized as follows. First, the general Korean rhetorical communication type is rhetorical reflectors. Second, a major goal of communication for those in their 20s is to entertain. Third, the more young generation have a strong tendency to speak out their feeling. Fourth, the more older generation are sensitive the mood and often use silence or avoidance tactics in consideration of the other party.
